When you think about trophy hunting, the danger involved is usually limited to the danger of potentially poor online reviews and getting called out for poor taste. Unfortunately for one hunter, the stakes were significantly higher.

This week, a trophy hunter posing for some #Instagram photos with the lion he had slain were surprised when one of the lion's brothers came to exact revenge. In a scene straight out of a horror movie, the hunter was attacked and eaten alive by the lion.

It's safe to say that this was one meal this hunter was not expecting. While we don't condone trophy hunting, we can certainly agree that this was the most extreme case of "instant karma" that we've ever seen!

Let this be a lesson to all trophy hunters out there: use caution when it comes to posing with your kill, you never know who could be watching — or coming — from the shadows.
